State highway three through the Manawatu Gorge is expected to remain closed until at least tomorrow afternoon.

Rockfalls along the length of the highway between Ashhurst and Woodville early this afternoon closed the road east of the Fitzherbert Road intersection.
The Transport Agency said contractors were on site and traffic is being diverted over the Saddle Road.
KiwiRail said its lines were largely unaffected.
