A coroner has found a man who died after a jetboat accident last year may have survived if he had not had pre-existing health conditions.

Roualeyn Munro was jet-boating with friends on the Waiatoto River, near Haast on the West Coast, on 7 March when their boat struck a rock.
Mr Munro, a passenger, was thrown into the water, suffering multiple injuries including a fractured pelvis and ribs.
The 64-year-old's companions got him to shore but he died in Grey Base Hospital the next day of cardiac arrest.
David Crerar found Mr Munro's existing heart disease and obesity predominantly contributed to his death.
He noted a person with better cardiac health and greater reserves might have been able to survive the injuries he sustained.
