Almost $100,000 has been raised for three Nepalese sisters who survived a Waimate fire that killed their parents and younger brother.
Tej Narayan Kafle, his wife Tika and their eight-year-old son Prem died in the family's home above their restaurant on the town's main street two weeks ago.
The couple's three daughters, 24-year-old Tulsi, Manisha, 17, and 11-year-old Mamata, escaped the fire by climbing onto the roof from a bedroom window.
Waimate Mayor Craig Rowley said more than $80,000 has been donated to a mayoral fund for the family, while a separate GiveaLittle campaign has raised close to $16,000.
A trust fund has been established to ensure the money will directly benefit the surviving daughters.
Mr Rowley said both the mayoral fund and the GiveaLittle page will stay open until next month.
