Police say gold mining equipment worth up to $40,000 has been stolen from an area near Ross on the West Coast.
They are appealing for information from the public about the theft from a mine site on McLeod's Road some time in the last week.
The missing equipment included specialist gold mining shaking tables, and a trailer-mounted test screen.
Anyone who has information about who may be responsible, or where the gear has gone, should contact Greymouth police.
