The family of a 69-year-old west Auckland woman violently killed in her home have thanked the community for their widespread support.
Police are yet to arrest anyone over the brutal daylight bashing of Cun Xiu Tian, who died from several strikes about the face and head last Friday.
More than 300 people in the Te Atatu community took part in a candlelight vigil last night to remember Ms Tian.
In a statement this afternoon, the family said they were humbled to know that so many people were thinking of them at this time.
The hunt for Ms Tian's killer is now in its sixth day.
The police yesterday appealed for sightings of a man in his 20s, dressed in a green and white tracksuit and white baseball cap.
