An Auckland woman has been freed by fire crews after being trapped in an elevator for 14 hours.

Emergency services arrived at a storage facility in Silverdale just after 8am this morning, after a man walked by the lift and heard someone screaming.
He raised the alarm and fire crews soon freed a woman from inside the lift, which was stuck on the ground floor.
A Fire Service Spokesperson said the woman was stuck inside the lift for 14 hours, and is in a distressed state.
She is currently undergoing medical treatment by ambulance staff.
