A company accused of dumping large piles of tyres in Bay of Plenty has appeared in the Tauranga District Court.
Ecoversion Logistics Limited and three individuals face two charges under the Resource Management Act of contravening or permitting the contravention of an abatement notice issued by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
The charges relate to the dumping of tyres at two sites in Kawerau and Waihi between last November and March this year.
The three individuals charged have interim name suppression.
The case has been adjourned until next month.
Under the law, the maximum fine the company faces is $600,000. For individuals, it's $300,000.
