The Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic have scored a 65-62 extra-time win over the Queensland Firebirds in their trans-Tasman netball clash on the Gold Coast.
The Magic started strongly and were up by five points at half-time before the Firebirds hit back and scored a goal on the final whistle to send the match into extra time.
The Firebirds jumped out to an early lead in overtime, but the defending champions clawed their way back for a dramatic win.
The result keeps the Magic's hopes of making the playoffs alive, which captain Laura Langman says is the main thing.
The Firebirds remain second.
