The stand-in All Blacks captain Kieran Read has been left out of the Crusaders starting lineup for Saturday's match against the Highlanders in Dunedin.
Coach Todd Blackadder is resting Read after the three-test series against France with George Whitelock to captain the side.
All Black lock Luke Romano is also in the reserves but fellow international Sam Whitelock will start.
