The New Zealand tennis player GD Jones has won his first up qualifying match for the Heineken Open tournament, which starts next week.
Jones, who has a current ranking of 623, beat a player ranked 186 in the world.
But a tournament official says three others New Zealanders involved in qualifying today lost their matches.
