The Chiefs coach Dave Rennie says he's happy with the weekend's win over the Stormers, but he wants to see his team develop some consistency over the next few weeks of Super Rugby.
The local conference challengers the Hurricanes, Highlanders and Crusaders all won over the weekend, as well as the competition's overall leaders the ACT Brumbies.
The Hurricanes lead the New Zealand conference and sit second in the overall standings, level on 18 points with the third placed Chiefs.
The Highlanders are fifth overall.
Rennie says it's not enough to just win one game, then drop the next.
"You know it's such a tough competition, you've got to pick up points as you go, and if you fall over you end up falling behind and getting under a bit of pressure so the win was massive for us. There's not too many teams that will win in Cape Town this year. We're really happy with that but it counts for little if we don't back up next week."
The Chiefs play South African side the Sharks in Durban on Sunday morning.
