The New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has been beaten in the first round of singles qualifying for next week's US Open in New York.
Erakovic was beaten 6-4, 6-2 in just over an hour in the Flushing Meadows qualifier by Hungarian teenager Fanny Stollar.
It was another disappointing day on court for 29-year-old Erakovic who has battled injury and poor form this season.
Erakovic, who had a career high world singles ranking of 39 in 2012, has slipped to 175.
