Lengthy spell for luckless Milner-Skudder

11:27 am on 9 October 2017

The All Blacks winger Nehe Milner-Skudder will miss not only the remainder of the test season but also the first couple of months of next year's Super Rugby competition.

Milner-Skudder dislocated his right shoulder in the All Blacks win over South Africa in Newlands on Sunday morning and will need surgery ruling him out for six months according to All Blacks coach Steve Hansen.

Milner-Skudder's latest injury came late in the first half when his opposite Courtnall Skosa dived on him as he was attempting to re-gather the ball.

It's the third serious injury for Milner-Skudder in the space of 18 months.

He dislocated his left shoulder in early 2016 and then broken a bone in his foot during the opening rounds of this year's Super Rugby competition with the Hurricanes.

Meanwhile the SANZAAR Review Committee has issued only a warning to Springbok centre Damian de Allende after he was sent off in the test, after being issued a red card for a late charge on Lima Sopoaga.

In a statement the committee said the offence did not warrant a red card in the circumstances.

"The charge was late and the player had time to pull out before colliding with his opponent.

"However, the collision was not effected with a great deal of force, with the initial contact being made with the player's forearm on the opponent's chest, from whence the arm rose up to make contact, again not forceful, onto the opponent's neck.

"The opponent was not injured," the statement said.
