Palu out for season

6:31 am on 13 April 2010

The New South Wales Waratahs have lost one of their Wallaby forwards for the rest of the Super 14 rugby season, and they're sweating on the fitness of two others.

Scans yesterday confirmed number eight Wycliff Palu ruptured a knee ligament during last weekend's game against the Crusaders, and his year might be over.

The Waratahs Wallaby prop Benn Robinson has a minor fracture in his right forearm, and hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau has a shoulder injury. The Waratahs have their bye this weekend, but the two front rowers face a battle to be fit for their April 24 match against the Brumbies.

Polota-Nau has missed only two Super games in four and a half seasons.
