Hawkes Bay scored a crushing road win over the Nelson Giants, winning their clash 80-54 at Taradale.
The Otago Nuggets also fell to the visiting Wellington Saints 94-80 in Dunedin but it was a lot closer in Christchurch where the Cougars were narrowly edged by the Waikato Pistons 88-83.
