The Chiefs centre Richard Kahui is likely out of contention for selection for the All Blacks this weekend because of a rib injury.
The All Black doctor Deb Robinson has confirmed that Kahui has suffered a cartilage tear near a rib and will be out of action for a further three weeks.
Kahui was an obvious contender for the second five position left vacant by the injury to ma'a Nonu.
Kahui suffered the injury in the Super 14, three weeks ago.
He says while he's obviously disappointed, he just needs to get on with his rehabilitation.
Chiefs hooker Aled de Malmanche is currently rehabilitating from a blow to his shoulder and fullback Mils Muliaina has had his cast removed and his thumb is progressing well.
The All Black squad to play Ireland and Wales next month will be named on Sunday.
