The New Zealand motor racing driver Scott Dixon has finished fifth in the Indianapolis 500, with his Chip Ganassi team-mate Dario Franchitti winning his second crown at the Brickyard.
Franchitti had the car to beat for most of the day and clinched the title by outduelling the others in the late stages of the race which ended under a yellow flag because of a spectacular crash involving Mike Conway.
Englishman Dan Wheldon finished runner-up for the second straight year.
Dixon, who won in Indy in 2008, had issues while pitting, including almost losing a wheel.
