The men's and women's eights are back in the largest-ever New Zealand rowing squad named for the World Championships at Lake Karapiro at the end of October.
Following a week of trials, a massive squad of 55 athletes will race in 18 boats.
Mahe Drysdale's the biggest name and he's sure the eights won't let the team down.
Drysdale's rowing for his fifth title in a row while the world champion men's pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond are another highlight.
Men's eights coach Dave Thompson is hopeful three months will be enough to get a competitive crew up and rowing.
Thompson says they'd like a little more time but the talent's in the boat and it's not a "rats and mice" eight, they're very young but it's a matter of how fast they can get it going in 12 weeks.
He says following the eight's success at the Henley Regatta in England recently there is confidence in the crew to do well at Karapiro.
Thompson says the long term plan is to build an eight to race at the London Olympic Games.
New Zealand last had a winning men's eight at a world championships in the early 1980s.
