The twice world 1500 metres champion Tatyana Tomashova is one of seven Russian female athletes to receive a two-year doping banfor manipulating drug samples.
The Russian athletics federation has also banned world indoor 1500 metres champion Yelena Soboleva, distance runners Yuliya Fomenko and Svetlana Cherkasova, the European discus champion Darya Pishchalnikova, the former hammer world record holder Gulfia Khanafeyeva and the former world 5000 metres champion Olga Yegorova.
