The weigh-ins are over and the bouts are now official for UFC 293 in Sydney.

An Australasian takeover is set for the UFC on Sunday, led by New Zealand mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya meets brash American Sean Strickland, with a host of other Kiwis also on the card.

The fighters stepped on to the scales in Sydney Friday afternoon and all made weight with the exception of Kiwi featherweight Shane Young, who came in 1.7kg over the limit of 67.9kg.

This will cost Young 30 percent of his fight purse. He is currently on a three-fight losing streak, his latest a decision loss to Blake Builder in Perth in February.

Adesanya came in at 89.3 kg.

"I have smart people around me, my dietician made this effortless, and with the genetic specimen I am, I am able to sweat it out like a professional," Adesanya told a UFC panel.

Responding to Thursday's press conference, 'The Last Stylebender' said he was biting his tongue.

"I could have gone deep, I could have stooped to his level, could have gone deep on the neo-Nazi stuff, him killing a dog all that, but there was no point. I got reassurance that all that matters is the fight and he knows he's outgunned and outmanned. I got gas for days, wasting my breath - that's what it is, he's a professional fool."

Adesanya said Sunday will be his chance to shine.

"It was very underwhelming - now it's time to overwhelm him."

The middleweight king will have an extra 24 hours after the weigh-ins before his fight, to cater for US audiences.

"He's never travelled out of America before, he's blessed to fight out of the country. I've been doing this for years, I've fought around the world, I know how to deal with this."

Despite coming in under the limit, Adesanya said he had added extra bulk to his frame.

"When I step up in that octagon, when it's time to move, I'm going to be sharp, explosive and deadly."

A visibly exhausted Strickland also came in underweight and admitted it was not an easy cut.

He again referenced Adesanya's allegiance to China after the Kiwi-Nigerian spent years of his career as a kickboxer in the country.

"This extra pound kinda sucks, but I'm gonna go try to kill the China man for you guys."

UFC 293 gets underway at 10.30am (NZT), with the main card from 2pm.
