A-League women's season extended

The start dates for the A-League season have been announced with the men's competition beginning at the end of October and the women in early November.

The women's competition has been extended to a 23-game regular season.

Following a record-breaking season that saw record crowds, memberships and TV viewers, the A-League Women 2024/25 season will kick off on the weekend of 1-3 November.

The A-League Women's season will have each team play 22 home and away fixtures, with an additional game being played during Unite Round.

Just like last season the top six sides will qualify for the Finals Series which is set to kick off on 25-27 April, with the Grand Final scheduled for the weekend of 16-18 May.

The Phoenix women finished eighth last season with nine wins from their 22 games.

The A-League Men will begin on the weekend of 18-20 October.

With Auckland FC joining the competition will expand to a 13-team competition and a 29-round regular season.

The 20th anniversary of the competition will see each club play 24 home and away fixtures, plus two additional matches (Unite Round and one other).

The top six sides will qualify for the Finals Series which will start on the weekend of 9-11 May, with the Grand Final to be played on the weekend of 30 May - 1 June.

The Phoenix men finished second in the regular season and were beaten by Melbourne Victory in the semi-finals.

The full fixtures for both competitions will be announced in the coming weeks.
