The former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting says he has taken a grown-up attitude to his new role as senior batsman which has helped spark his spectacular resurgence at the age of 37.
The veteran is unbeaten on 137 after the first day's play of the fourth and final Test against India in Adelaide after sharing a partnership of 251 with skipper Michael Clarke (140 not out).
Ponting agrees he batted better than at the SCG after making his second century of the series and made it very clear he's passionate about playing beyond this week.
The home side will resume on 335 for 3 when day two gets underway at 1 o'clock.
