    We hear the Queen of Piano Jazz on her own at the Kaplan Penthouse. The venerable host of the popular jazz programme began playing Chopin at the age of three, trained for classical music, then travelled in a piano vaudeville act during World War Two. After the war she found traditional jazz, then swing and bebop, where she has based her wide-ranging career. McPartland's performance brings us her musical versatility and dry wit in rare form (Murray Street Productions)
