    By June 1788, Wolfgang and Constanze Mozart had a son, Carl, aged three. Two other sons had died within a few weeks of birth. A daughter, Theresia, was born in December 1787 but on 29 June she died. Many reasons have been given for the passionate turmoil of Mozart's G minor symphony, which was composed in the next few weeks. Is it possible that it was a response to the death of his daughter?
