Te Rūnanga Hauora Māori o te Moana a Toi are pushing for as many members of their rohe of Bay of Plenty to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
They are issuing an appeal for all descendants of Toi to reach out grab the vaccine for themselves and their whānau.
The deputy chairperson of te Rūnanga is Kipouaka Pukekura, she joins Jesse to talk about their mission and goal.

Psychologist Sarb Johal has written a blog to stress the importance of avoiding any toxic backlash when talking about the change in approach to COVID in New Zealand.
He says its important to recognise how the change to a more hardened approach around vaccinations and the impact a move away from the current alert level system can have on people.
Sarb talks to Jesse about how to keep engaging and encouraging people to be vaccinated without humiliating them or causing them to withdraw and go further underground.
