The Great Kiwi Bake Off has named it's latest victor - Whangārei doctor Alby Hailes!
In the finale last night he beat out finalists Courtnay and Jasmin with an impressive matcha cake.

As of yesterday, Kāpiti Coast's Queen Elizabeth Park will be a cow-free zone.
The Greater Wellington Regional Council agreed not to renew a grazing license, deciding to prioritise the restoration of the wetland instead.
Councillor Thomas Nash campaigned on the issue and was there for the vote, he talks to Jesse.

1:50 'Fresh and vital voice' in NZ literature wins new creative prize
The winner of a new creative writing prize worth $10,000 has just been announced.
The Crystal Arts Trust Prize is the largest creative writing prize at any New Zealand university. It was founded by James and Rosetta Allan to support literature, music and visual art.
The inaugural winner is Sri Lankan Pākehā writer and actor Saraid de Silva, who has been described as "fresh and vital voice in New Zealand literature" by Auckland University Master of Creative Writing course director, Paula Morris.
Saraid joins Jesse to talk about her prize-winning work.

He also mentions the In The Shade Film Festival which is on at the Hollywood Avondale and The Academy from January 19th to February 2nd 2022.
In The Shade is designed to help make up for Aucklanders having missed out on the 2021 film festival due to its cancellation.
2:20 Best new house in New Zealand crowned
A Westmere home has been crowned the best new house in New Zealand, with the jury calling it "an inspirational window into what the future of Auckland could look like".
It belongs to Auckland architect Lisa Webb who designed it herself, and last night it won the Sir Ian Athfield Award for Housing.
Lisa talks to Jesse about her design.
