The Mongol Derby is an endurance multi-horse race that is considered the longest and toughest in the world.
45 competitors will cover 1000 kilometres of the wild Mongolian steppe, testing their riding ability as well as their navigation and survival skills.
Sam Edney, who turns 21 just 4 days before the event, will be one of the youngest in the competition.

Sir John Kirwin who was of course part of the 1987 Rugby World Cup winning All Blacks team.
The then 22-year old was one of breakout stars of the tournament going on to score six tries in a tournament which would help usher in the modern era of Rugby Union.
