1:15 The power of part time, a new list to celebrate work life balance

Part-time work isn't usually associated with a mark of success in one's career, but a new list has been celebrated to do just that.

The Part Time power list features 25 New Zealanders working in senior leadership roles on part time hours.

It includes job shares, people who work four day weeks, and some who only work within school hours.

List creator Emma Mclean is the founder of a consultancy for working parents - 'Works For Everyone'. She speaks to Jesse.

1.25 Oldest cave art in the world discovered in Indonesia

Archaeologists have discovered a piece of cave art which has become the oldest known example at more than 51 thousand years old.

The picture was found at the Indonesian island of Sulawesi and depicts a hunting-like interaction between humans and a pig.

The team of international researchers used a new technique which includes a laser beam four times smaller than the width of a human hair.

Adam Brumm is a professor of archaeology at the Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution, and he co-led the study. He speaks to Jesse.

1.35 Wish 4 Fish charitable trust looking for help with their campaign

We speak to the man behind a wonderful campaign which aims to make the joys of ocean fishing accessible to all.

In 2007, Bryce Dinneen suffered an injury which left him as a tetraplegic.

For the past 10 years he has dedicated himself to supporting and advocating for the disabled community through the charitable trust he founded - Wish 4 Fish.

Phase one is complete - Noah - is a purpose-built catamaran for ocean fishing.

But now Noah needs a home - Bryce joins us to talk about phase two which does include a givealittle page.

The art of wig making and the act of wig wearing is as old as hats. At certain stages of history people preferred to just chuck on a perfumed wig instead of taking care of their own hair.

Today wigs are more often associated with costume parties and dressing-up, but for many people a wig or hairpiece can mean the difference between high and low-self esteem, for both men and women experiencing hair loss.

Andy Alsop is probably New Zealand's best men's wig, toupee and hairpiece connoisseur. He's our expert guest this week.

3:10 Joan Baez on her book of poetry

Joan Baez is the voice of a generation. Her music became the soundtrack of anti-war protests and the civil rights movement in the 60s and 70s.

She performed at Woodstock and stood with Martin Luther King Jr at the march on Washington. And while she was appealing to the world to listen to our better angels and fight for social justice, she had more than her share of inner demons to contend with. 

Deep in therapy in the 90's, processing childhood abuse, she began to write poetry on bits of paper and stashed them away. Now  for the first time, Joan Baez shares these poems publicly. 

The collection is a glimpse into complicated relationships with family members and other artists like  Bob Dylan, and moments that have shaped her life and  art.

The poetry book is called When You See My Mother, Ask Her to Dance.
