9:15 What's in a name? A sociolinguist weighs in

Our parents often put a lot of thought into choosing them for us and many of us hear our own ones daily for the rest of our lives.

But our names do more than refer to us. They tell us about our families, the societies we live in, how others see us and how we see ourselves.

Our resident sociolinguist Dr Julia de Bres joins Emile Donovan.

10:17 Wool's triumphant return

The New Zealand wool industry has been languishing for years, with buying prices low, synthetic materials taking old customers, and farmers in a state of despondency.

But just this week, some international tariffs have been lifted from New Zealand wool, and a new education programme on wool dynamics has been announced for both primary-aged children and university design schools.

Emile Donovan speaks to Campaign for Wool chair Ryan Cosgrove.

Ryan smiles at the camera. He stands with his arms folded in a garden with leafy trees all around him. He wears glasses and a black tshirt.
