When local milkman, Dylan, finds out that his wife is having a baby he resolves to himself to end his secret infidelities once and for all. The ghosts of his past however don't prove to be so easy to exorcise. Set in small town New Zealand of the 1980s, Milk chronicles the end of an era for both the characters and a way of life. Just as the congenial milkman is now a bygone figure, so too the milkman of the story, Dylan, moves from one era into the next. His attempts to close and resolve his past infidelities are thwarted by the indomitable wills of the women he has loved. Milk saturates the story as bottles, breasts and babies haunt Dylan's waking dreams.(RNZ)
