Emergency services are responding to reports of a workplace incident in Dunedin.
Fire and Emergency NZ said it was alerted shortly after 3.30pm on Thursday to the incident in Kenmure.
Crews from Lookout Point and Roslyn were sent.
St John said a rapid response unit, ambulance and an operations managers were to the scene, but referred any further questions to police.
Police confirmed they were at the scene on Kaikorai Valley Rd, but said no further information was available at this time.
WorkSafe said it had been notified of an incident at a manufacturing business in Kenmure and was making initial inquiries.
"Manufacturing is a priority under WorkSafe's new strategy, as it has the largest total number of injuries of any sector.
"Incidents involving machinery remain a common cause of acute harm. Injury rates in manufacturing have stayed the same or increased over the last decade, even when they have decreased in other sectors," a spokesperson said.
