Series leader Scott Dixon has finished fifth at the latest Indy Car race in Illinois.
Josef Newgarden won the race with Pato O'Ward second, Will Power third and Rinus VeeKay fourth.
New Zealander Dixon, who won yesterday's first race at the Bommarito 500, now has a 96 point lead over Newgarden in the championship standings.
Yesterday's victory was Dixon's 50th Indy Car race win.
It reversed the result from last week's Indianapolis 500, taking the checkered flag ahead of Japan's Takuma Sato.
Dixon is third on the all-time list of winners in American open wheel racing, behind AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti.
There are three races remaining in the season, but Dixon refuses to believe has a sixth IndyCar championship in the bag.
