Lauren Jack
Lauren Jack is a freelance violist based in Pōneke | Wellington, and her drive is the emotional connection that music brings us. She loves every sort of musical collaboration whether it be contributing to the massive sound of a symphony orchestra, the intimacy of a string quartet, or collaborating with singers, rappers, and bands on stage.
Her work as a freelancer includes playing as sub-principal viola in Orchestra Wellington, teaching violin and viola at Arohanui Strings and Queen Margaret’s college, playing with her best friends in various chamber ensembles or in the Gallery Orchestra, and occasionally joining the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra as a casual musician.
In every one of these environments she is always working with the belief that everyone deserves to participate in music making and appreciation.
Lauren joined RNZ Concert as a casual presenter in May 2023.
