  • 7:15 PM. Classic Concerts

    Three programmes

    (1) Carole King, The Living Room Tour

Recorded in 2004, the tone of this recording is reflected in the title. King set out on a US tour of small venues with just two backing singers, a bass player and guitarist, with herself on piano. This allows her to strip back the arrangements and lay bare her catalogue of 40 years of classic songs - from being a Brill Building house songwriter on the 60s, to releasing albums under her own name since the 70s. She has an easy intimate rapport with the audience as she takes them on a musical journey through her life (Rockingale RCD 6200)
