    Pizzica Indiavolata - Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino

    In Global Sounds this week we feature Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. They're a traditional music ensemble from southern Italy who specialise in the music of the Salento peninsula - that's the heel part of Italy's 'boot'. The group was formed in the 1970s and it's currently led by Mauro Durante, the son of one of the original members. For the group's recent released album, Pizzica Indiavolata, Durante has written and arranged a collection of pieces inspired by Salento's musical traditions (Ponderosa 200112)
