While the economic ministers from the Pacific Islands Forum countries are currently meeting in Fiji a veteran analyst of Pacific economics, Steve Pollard, has published a blog called 'the Pacific Economic Malaise.'
He writes about the constraints on the region's growth and what might ease that.
Mr Pollard spoke with RNZ Pacific's Don Wiseman who began by asking about the state of the Pacific economies.
