Adolescence Season 2? Brad Pitt eyeing it up
If it were to go ahead, a rep for the star's production company said they hope it would “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA, not be repetitive."
Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment is in talks with the creators of the Netflix hit show Adolescence to create a second season, according to Deadline.
Adolescence, a four-part series that examines the repercussions of violent misogynistic internet culture on teenage boys, is one of the most talked about shows of the year. Since its March premiere, it has generated conversations about young people and the pitfalls of social media and smartphones, as well as about the show’s creative format. Each episode was filmed in one camera take, adding to the intensity of the subject matter.
Plan B’s co-presidents, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, told the entertainment industry publication that they were speaking to Adolescence director Philip Barantini about a possible second season.
In Adolescence, Jaime's parents are played by Christine Tremarco and Stephen Graham.

If it were to go ahead, Gardner said they hope it would “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA, not be repetitive.” Plan B also hopes the show's co-creator and one of its stars, Stephen Graham, would come on board.
Graham starred as the father of the main character Jaime, who is accused of killing a female classmate. The show is framed as a ‘whydunit’ rather than a ‘whodunit’ with the show delving into the manosphere, the dark antifeminist corners of the internet that promote misogyny.
It became one of the top TV shows in over 80 countries with the filmmakers talking to British politicians about showing it in high schools there. The show has also ignited conversations about the influence of social media and smartphones on teenagers among politicians and anti-phone advocates as well as between parents and their teenagers.
Graham had previously commented that show Adolescence was a closed story, leaving little room for a prequel or sequel for Jaime's story.
Gardner said the one take concept was “not a gimmick” and would likely be utilised for season 2.
“In early conversations with Stephen and Jack [Thorne, the show's co-writer], they were talking about how it’s too easy to look away... So our theory was, what would happen if you couldn’t look away? And will that make the subject embed in you in a different way? That was a thrilling thing.”
Plan B was involved early on in the creation of Adolescence and is listed as an executive producer. Pitt and Graham had worked together in the past, co-starring in Guy Ritchie’s 2000 movie Snatch. Plan B first pitched Adolescence to Amazon, which passed on the series before it landed on Netflix.
