8:30 Early Goldie goes under the hammer
This evening a piece of New Zealand art history went under the hammer.
The painting Souvenirs from the Field of Battle by Charles Frederick Goldie was painted in 1890 when the artist was 20.
135 years later it's being sold by Webb's Auction House.
It is one of Goldie's earliest works and is recognised as his first masterpiece.
To find out more Emile speaks to Webb's director of art Emily Gardener.
