A cannabis bust in Wellington today also turned up a man wanted for serious violent crimes but who has been evading police for 10 years using multiple false identities, police say.
Police seized more than 200 cannabis plants and arrested 11 people in a drug bust this afternoon.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch told Checkpoint the man was facing serious family violence charges.
"Back in January 2005, he was alleged to be responsible for two home invasions in Wellington, one on an ex partner and the other on the ex partner's new partner, about a week later," he said.
"He was place before the court and bailed, and failed to comply with his bail conditions and has more or less been on the run since then."
Mr Leitch said the man was part of an alleged cannabis network supplying hundreds of thousands of dollars of cannabis in Wellington and Whanganui during the past few years.
