Two people have been killed in two separate road crashes in eastern Bay of Plenty overnight.
The first happened when two cars collided on State Highway 2 at Waiotahi shortly after 8pm.
One of the drivers died at the scene and the other was in hospital in a critical condition.
Then, just after midnight, the driver and sole occupant of a four-wheel-drive died when the vehicle crashed and rolled on Reid Road in Ruatoki.
