One person has died and two people have been injured at a house in the Christchurch suburb of Ilam this morning.

Emergency services were notified of an assault at the house in Tripp Place. Police found a body inside upon arrival.
Superintendent Lane Todd said two other people at the property had been taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident and said all those involved were known to each other.
A police guard has been put in place.
