A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck on Auckland's Southern Motorway.
Police said the incident happened around 3.30am on Wednesday, just south of the Alfriston Road bridge.
Southbound lanes were closed while the Serious Crash Unit and Commercial Vehicle Safety Team carried out a scene examination.

Police confirmed just prior to 7.30am that the lanes had reopened.

A full investigation into the incident will take place.
