Warehouse staff upset at stores closure

A soon-to-be redundant Warehouse worker says there were tears when her store found out it would close. More than a 1000 jobs are in the firing line as The Warehouse Group consults on plans to close six stores - Noel Leeming in Henderson and Tokoroa, The Warehouse stores in Whangaparaoa, Johnsonville and Dunedin Central, and Warehouse Stationery in Te Awamutu. Staff at the Birkenhead The Warehouse store and Noel Leeming Papanui and The Palms stores have already been told they will lose their jobs when the stores close. Kylie Munday is one of them - she's been with the Birkenhead store for a decade. She told reporter Tess Brunton she had a bad feeling when a poster popped up in her store less than two weeks ago.
