Iwi chairs support travel restrictions, urge vaccinations

From Midday Report, 12:42 pm on 11 October 2021

The National Iwi Chairs Pandemic Response Group wants everyone to stick to the travel restrictions and are pushing for all Maori to get vaccinated.

Border control checkpoints went into full swing in Northland over the weekend - with local volunteers saying they'll do all they can to keep Delta out of the region.

The latest data from last week show 58 percent of Maori have had their first dose and 35 percent are fully vaccinated.

Co-chair of the iwi chair pandemic response group Mike Smith talks to Māni Dunlop.
