Shane Jones' Air NZ call-out wins regional mayors' support
Two mayors of towns that have lost their Air New Zealand connection are backing the championing of the regions by Shane Jones. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told the Regional Development Minister he went too far after he put Air New Zealand's board and its chief executive on notice over its decisions to stop flying to some regional towns. But the mayors in those regions are applauding his support for their towns. Buller District mayor Garry Howard and Whakatane's Mayor Tony Bonne are on the line.
