An aged care nurse who stayed at work for three days straight because of staffing shortages says she feels like the stress is destroying her.
Sue manages an aged care facility in the rural North Island and is responsible for making sure there is a nurse on site at all times.
She told Health Correspondent Rowan Quinn about one night last week where there was no one available, so she planned to sleep on site after her normal shift and get up if urgently needed.
It didn't work out that way.
