A second power shortage warning in six days was issued by Transpower on Tuesday.
The grid operator was forced to ask suppliers to boost generation because of expected high demand last night.
The problem appeared to be resolved thanks to additional generation.
However, it remains unclear if outages in the Wellington suburb's of Miramar and Seatoun and Johnsonville , affecting nearly 1000 customers, was linked.
