New food price figures have revealed how tough the Christmas grocery shop really was.
Stats NZ's latest report shows prices were 11.3 percent higher in December 2022 than they were in December 2021, the biggest annual jump in 32 years.
Products like cheddar cheese, barn or cage-raised eggs, and potato chips were the largest drivers within grocery food price hikes.
