The National Party's Taieri candidate Stephen Jack has resigned after Stuff revealed, that in 2021, he shared a poem online comparing Jacinda Ardern to Adolf Hitler.
This after it was revealed earlier this week he had re-posted a crass sexist joke about "how he likes his women"
Deputy Leader Nicola Willis labelled the joke shared by Jack "disgusting" - and warned a repeat incident may trigger the party's disciplinary code.
A National Party spokesperson says the party will reopen selection for the seat, which covers south Ōtepoti Dunedin, in due course.
