It's that time of the year where people across the country are urged to practice for when the big one strikes.
The ShakeOut is happening at nine-thirty this morning, a national earthquake or tsunami drill where people can practice drop, cover and hold, and remind themselves of what to do in a major natural disaster.
Emergency Management Minister Kieran McAnulty will be taking part.
He spoke to Morning Report.
